Dorothy Wood

Dorothy J. Wood, 84, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Taylor House Hospice surrounded by her family. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. and funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Shirley Scovel of Bondurant and Penny Wood of Madrid; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Donald (Jean) Speck of Ankeny. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cal Wood; daughters, Donna Miller and Linda Wood; and son, Eddie Parker.
