Keith Thomas

Keith Thomas, 69, passed away April 24, 2011, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Keith was born July 3, 1941, to John and Mildred (Randolph) Thomas in Des Moines and was a lifelong resident. He was a general contractor, starting out in masonry work as a cement finisher and finishing his career in home improvement as a siding applicator. Keith enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, and auctioning.

Keith is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Thomas; sons, Rick (DeeDee) Thomas and Ronnie Thomas; daughter, Kathy (Denny) Shelburg; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Randy, Kris Nick, Kyle, Cory, Jake, Devin and Kayla; and seven great-grandchildren, Jadden, Haylee, Lexie, Natalie, Lilly, Baylee and Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patty; and his sidekick, “Taz.”

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011, followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will be held at Berwick Cemetery.
