Stanley Heston, 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, April 15, 2011, at Mercy Hospice-Johnston, of cancer.
Stan graduated from Greenville College in Illinois. He served in the US Navy in World War II. As an entrepreneur, he founded International Consultant Enterprise.
Stan’s memory is cherished by his wife of four years, Lugene Burns-Heston; daughter, Ellen Heston; sons, Marvin (Patrice) Heston and Keith Heston; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Bettejean Cramer and Cheri Rogers; six step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Edythe Armstrong Heston; daughters, Cynthia Newcombe and Janeyce Moore; and brother, Crawford.
A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Stan’s life. Memorial contributions may be made to his beloved First Federated Church in Des Moines. Online condolences may be made at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

I'm so sorry I couldn't be there to say goodbye in person. I am sad that we weren't in contact as often the last few years, as in years past. Every time I see a show about Presidents FDR or Johnson, I think of you. I think you were the perfect embodiment of both. I loved/love you very much Dad. You are missed. Christine
