Hannah, 39, died of a heart attack on April 3, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center.
She was born June 16, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Richard and Nancy Johnston.
Hannah worked as a parent partner for Department of Human Services.
Hannah is survived by her father, Richard (Jan) Johnston; mother, Nancy Johnston; Daughter, Madeline Simko; son, Clayton Jacob “CJ” Pinkerton; step-son, Andrew Simko; husband, Larry Simko; brother, Mike (Cheryl) Johnston; sister, Lynn (Mike) Lamb; brother, Doug (Viktoriya) Johnston; step-brothers, Mike (Lisa) Hopkins and Dan (Cheri) Hopkins; many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with burial to follow at the Canfield Cemetery in Ivy, Iowa. Visitation will occur Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

I am a co-worker of Cheryl's here at the Principal Financial Group. I want you to know that my family and I are praying for you as you walk through this most difficult time in your life. I lost my wife 2 years ago; she was 40 at the time. I would encourage you all to take advantage of the services that Hamilton offers to help families come through this transition. It will be a long hard road, but it can be done with lots of help. Seek God during your grief and He will hear you!
