Mary "Lorene" Madden

Mary “Lorene” Madden, 96, passed away February 9, 2011 at Taylor House Hospice. She was born March 1, 1914, in Butterfield, MO. She enjoyed going to the Iowa State Fair, gardening, flowers, crafts and holidays.

Lorene is survived by her daughter, Patricia Karns; grandchildren, Richard Karns of Carlisle, IA, Charles Karns of Des Moines, Russell Karns of Des Moines, Terry Karns of Des Moines, Scott Karns of Des Moines and Linda (Neil) Frizzell of Slayton, MN; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; grandson, Mike and her twin sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Taylor House Hospice.
