A. Ron Linford

A. Ron Linford, 72, died Thursday, January 13, 2011, from congestive heart failure. He was born November 19, 1938, to Avard and Venice Linford in Laramie, WY.

Ron graduated from high school in Wahpeton, ND, and then served in the Army. He had a life time of continuing his education where he attended and took classes from Grandview College and DMACC. Ron owned TAXAID, where he was a tax preparer for many years, and was also a jack of all trades, doing his own electrical and carpentry work. Ron spent the last few years truly dedicating his life to his grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandy; children, Robert Linford, Rebecca (Mark) Burton, Eric Linford, and Mark Linford; grandchildren, Ceegan and Cinzi Linford, Andrea and Zachary Burton, and Melanie and Matthew Linford, all of Des Moines, IA; brother, Tom (Linda) Linford of Warrenville, IL; and a host of other family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Joel and Robert Linford.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
