Harold D. Root

Harold Dennis Root, 68, passed away at his home on January 1, 2011.

Harold was born October 17, 1942, in Chariton, IA to Harold and Nada Root. He graduated from Lincoln High School and retired from Xerox after 20 years of service.

Harold is survived by his children, Valerie (Greg) May, Tracy (Charlene) Root and Deanna Dunn; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy, Marvin and Ed; sisters, Donna, Diane and Debbie; his significant other, Marcia Randolph; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter, Katelyn Belieu.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
