Carolynn Smith

Carolynn M. Smith, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Kavanagh on 56th Hospice from complications of diabetes.
Carolynn was born August 25, 1943, in Des Moines. She was a lifelong resident. She was a social worker for the State of Iowa for 35 years. Carolynn retired in August of 2000. Her hobbies were scrapbooking, stamping and card making. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Carolynn is survived by her daughter, Christina Hockenberg of Des Moines; her cousin, Cheryl Craig of Altoona; and a grandson.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh on 56th Hospice.
