Alfred Roy Faux

Alfred Roy Faux, 71, passed away on December 21, 2010. According to Alfred’s wishes, no services are planned.

Alfred loved golf and succeeded in many local tournaments. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed almost all sports. Alfred retired in 1994 as Captain from the Des Moines Fire Department after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Firefighters Local 4.

Alfred is survived by son, Michael and Ana Mellado-Faux of Arizona; daughter, Doreen Faux of Colorado; grandson, Bradley Faux; siblings, George (Dorothy) Faux of Carthage, TX; Ivan (Agnes) Faux of Des Moines; Almeda Booth-Mohn of Brook Park, MN; and Charles (Margo) Faux of Ellston, IA; long time companion, Phyllis Hansman; and former wife, Sharon Faux of Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ila (Stowell) and George Faux; brothers, Loyed Faux and Calvin Faux; sister, Lois Sherfy; and son, Douglas Faux.

Memorials are preferred to the Iowa Firefighters Memorial, PO Box 7, Traer, IA 50675 in memory of Alfred.
