Service Details
Shirley Gifford, 78, passed away December 11, 2010, at Taylor House Hospice. She was born April 13, 1932, in Des Moines.
Shirley retired from Garner Printing in 1992 after 34 years of service. She enjoyed ceramics and teaching ceramics at the Southside Senior Center. She also loved to go camping and was active with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America.
Shirley is survived by her children, William (Ruth) Gifford, Cathy (Kenny) Sackett, Ed (Theresa) Gifford and Julia Leverich; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ova (Prince) Grove; husband, Dale; son, Arnold; and her brother, Ronald Grove.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Glendale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House Hospice.
She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.

I will miss Shirley. We had good times traveling with her in the motor home. She always fed the animals in the campground! My sympathy and love to her family.
