The memorial service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Panora Brethren Cemetery in Panora, Iowa following fellowship time.

Louisa was born October 27, 1944 in Perry, IA to Arles (Arky) M. Vaughn and Mary Louise Vaughn. Louisa was the youngest of two. She grew up in rural Jamaica, Paton, and Dana, IA. She graduated from East Greene High School in Grand Junction, IA in 1962 (where her son got his leg broken during a high school football game). She attended La James & Americana Cosmetology School’s in Fort Dodge, IA and earned her Cosmetology license between her junior and senior year of high school.

She was united in marriage to Robert C. Peterson “Bob/Pete” of Jefferson, IA on October 27, 1963 in Omaha, NE. Bob’s employment took them to many towns and states in the mid-west including Lincoln, NE, Mexico, MO, Missouri Valley, IA, Dana, IA, and Jefferson, IA, where she operated her own beauty salon. In January of 1967 Bob was invited to be a member of the United States Army (Babe I’m going to Nam) until January of 1969. Upon completion of his service to his country, they moved to Olathe, KS where they operated a Quality Oil station. After moving back to Jefferson in 1969, Jeffery Robert Peterson was born on September 5, 1969. In 1970 they moved to Carroll, IA where Bob was employed as a truck driver at Crouse Cartage Company. On May 5, 1973 Heather Lynn Peterson was born in Carroll, IA.

In 1975 Bob and Louisa moved to Madrid, IA from Carroll, IA. Louisa worked with Bob and they owned and operated Madrid Sanitation. She worked at the Madrid Home for the Aging as a payroll and accounting clerk for many years. She also was a waitress at the Woodchuck Inn in Woodward, IA and The Corn Patch in Grimes, IA. In 1996 she left the Madrid Home to join her husband in their trucking operation. Upon her death, Louisa was still the CEO and CFO of RC Peterson trucking. (AKA Bob)

Louisa was a caring and fun loving, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed life and all it had to offer. Making people laugh and dishing out a little harassment here and there to those who were in her path was expected. Louisa was not a big lady in size but was big in mind, heart, spirit, and soul and dealing out an occasional smack down to her son and daughter, (I am sorry mom, real, real sorry, I say uncle).

Louisa is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Jeffery (Elayna) of Granger IA; daughter, Heather of Madrid; three grandsons; sister, Arlis Bartley of Jefferson, IA; and many beloved and extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
