Frederick Harris

Frederick H. Harris, 73, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Mercy Hospital. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Frederick was born January 3, 1934 to Eugene and Clara Harris in Des Moines. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Frederick was a poet and wrote the song “Eternal Flame” for John F. Kennedy after his death.
Frederick is survived by his sisters, Barbara Rowland and Margaret Smith; cousin, Michael Edwards; and a host of nieces; nephews; and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and cousin, Gregory Edwards.
