Henry Leroy Chandler

Henry Leroy Chandler, 69, surrounded by his loving family, lost his courageous battle with cancer on October 14, 2010.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, October 18, 2010 at Hamilton’s Altoona. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 pm.

Henry spent 4 years in the U.S. Air Force prior to his 31 year career with NCR Corporation. After his early retirement, he had the opportunity to work for Polaroid & Digimarc companies for 12 years until his disease progressed to the point where he was no longer able.

Henry was an avid fisherman who shared the joy of Canadian waters with family and friends who were fortunate to enjoy a trip with him. He was also an amazing woodworker who blessed his loved ones with gifts designed with love.

Henry is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 50 years; his sons, Dave Chandler with partner Stephen Rector and Edward Chandler with wife Debbie; his daughters, Kathy Webb with husband Todd and Amy Swieter with husband Isaac; his grandsons, Joe, Brett and Ryan Chandler and Michael and Daniel Webb; his “favorite” granddaughter, Dawn Webb and his great granddaughter, Natalie Mae Seher; his brothers, Gary, Keith, Chuck and Dean; his sisters, Arlene Weaver, Janice McCullough, Nancy Stevens, and Linda Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lenna; his brothers, Connie and Arthur, Jr; and his sisters, Minnie Allen and Thelma Middleton.
