Rickey Roy Cooper, Sr.

Rickey Cooper, Sr., 54, died May 14, 2010 at his home. A funeral service will be held 4 pm Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday. Cremation will follow the service with burial of cremated remains at the Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes at a later date.

Rickey worked for Polk County and prior to that ran the Iowa Cub Club Restaurant for 25 years.

Rickey is survived by his son, Rickey Jr.; sisters, Debbie Cooper, Lisa Cooper; brother, Bobby Cooper; granddaughters, Kayla and Kaley; aunts and uncles Lois and Reese Thomas, Lelola and Gerald Boender, Loren and Betty Cooper, LaVonne and Tom Bills, Karol and Jodie Smith, Terry Smith, Danny Smith, Ernest Smith, Martha and Bob Hoover and a host of other relatives and friends.

Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lou and Roy Cooper Jr.; grandparents, Roy and Bertha Cooper, John and Marcella Smith; and his aunt and uncle, Lela and Chuck Woodland.
