Joseph L. Graziano

Joseph “Joe” Graziano, 68, passed away May 6, 2010 at Mercy Hospital.

Joe was born January 19, 1942 in Des Moines to Lee and Vera Graziano. He retired from the City of Des Moines after 35 years of service and really enjoyed his time working there. While with the city, he worked at the Sewage Treatment Plant and also as a truck driver in the Street Dept. Joe loved to fish, barbeque and watch NASCAR.

Joe is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty; sons, Tony, Dan, Shawn and John; four daughters-in-law; nine grandchildren; sister-in-law, Diana Stevenson, from San Antonio, TX; two brothers-in-law; cousins, Mary, Johnny and Frankie; his Aunt Rose, whom he loved dearly; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the people at Mercy Medical Center and Prime Towers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for taking care of Joe.
