Ronald Trent

Ronald L. Trent, 62, of Des Moines died on February 25, 2007 at Hospice Kavanagh on 56th following a brief battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-8 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Ron graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962 where he was an all state swimmer. He was a bookbinder at R.R. Donnelly for 39 years and was a member of the Graphic Arts Bindery Union. He enjoyed NASCAR, photography, traveling and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife Peggy of Des Moines, his mother Virginia Trent of Des Moines, his daughter Shelly (Larry) Casner of Des Moines, his son Dennis Trent of Indianola, his step-daughters Janet Davenport of Ohio and Patty Bixler of Nebraska, his siblings John (Joyce) Trent, Linda (Jack) Alber and Richard Trent all of Des Moines, his granddaughter Amy Casner, his great granddaughter Justice Manley and his five step grandsons Greg, Sean, Steven, Dustin and Derek. He was preceded in death by his father Howard Trent.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or the American Cancer Society.
