David McConnell, Sr.

David McConnell Sr., 51, of the SE side of Des Moines, died of liver cancer Wednesday at his home in the presence of a few close family members. Services will be held at 10 am Monday, April 26, at Grace Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Scotch Ridge Cemetery.

David lived in Des Moines his entire life. He was a 1977 graduate of Lincoln High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, artifacting, and in more recent years traveling with his wife. He loved spending time with his three grandkids.

David is survived by his wife, Denise; a daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Tim; a son and daughter-in-law, David Jr. and Jill; his father, Larry; a brother and sister, Larry Jr. and Barbara; and three grandchildren, Abigail, TJ, and Joseph.

The family will be present at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th from 5 to 7pm Sunday.
