Helen Maples

Helen Maples, 87, died Wednesday, March 2, 2010 peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the funeral home.

Helen was born April 7, 1922 to James and Ada Riddle in Des Moines, Iowa .

Helen enjoyed cooking and especially spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by her husband, Don of 70 years; children, Caroline Hansbrough, Marilynn (Larry) Peters and Donald J. Maples:, 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren: 3 great great grandchildren; two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given to the DAV in memory of Helen.
