Kathryn Tyler, 82, of East Des Moines died at Mercy Hospice in Johnston March 1, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tyler was born in Leachville, AR and lived in Des Moines since 1948. She was a retired factory worker at Fawn Engineering.
Survivors include her sons, James W. “Woody” Jr. and Timothy N. (Aunita), both of Des Moines and Jerry A. Sr. (Sheila) of Richland, MO; daughter, Emma (Mark) Hines of Des Moines; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Evelyn Thorn of Geneva, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Tyler, Sr.

To Molly and Family:
We know how important your Grandma Tyler was to you and all the wonderful moments you have spent with her. Know that the pain and suffering are gone and she is probably having a wonderful time in Heaven doing what she did best...you knew her, you loved her and she will always be with you.

The prayers and condolences of my family goes to yours. As we have lost a father within the last year, with similar circumstances, we understand your loss. God will take care of all of you and she is in a better place. She & James are together again and will be there to greet you'al when you get there too. God is our strength and will provide all we need.
