Service Details
Joe F. Motsinger, 82, passed away January 21, 2010 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
Joe was born January 8, 1928 in Redding, IA to Harry and Marion Motsinger. He retired from the City of Des Moines after many years of service. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid Hawkeye, Cubs and Bears fan. Above all, Joe loved his family and enjoyed traveling and spending time with them.
Joe is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Jolene Bahri, DeAnne Schipper, Billie Joe, Lansing Lee Brown, Debbie Gibson, Kathy Fast, Stephen Edwards, Kenny Edwards, Jay Lucas, Joey Lucas and Lenny Martinez; sister, Janice Overholser; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Joe bouncer, my hero. Life has never been the same, since you went away. Yes, I kept my promise. No one will ever love me or Jeremiah, mom and Deanne the way you did. I finally found someone who love's me, and he taught is no one is too good or too bad, so I've learned to forgive. I miss you every day. I cry every day. I bring you flowers every season and clean your headstone. Jeremiah and Mom are alone. I want my daddy. I want to cuddle with you. Hug you. French kiss you. Tickle you where your belly button used to be. I want to run buck naked thru the living room and see you shake your head. I want you to be proud of me. I bought a nice house and its mine. I would have brought you here and taken care of you and mom . God cured Jeremiah of cancer, I can't live without you or him. I talk to you every night, Joe Fisher. We love & miss you so much papa Mom is doing good miah is as funny & crazy as ever its been almost 2 yrs since youve been away but you wont ever be forgotten Dad I know one day we will see you again & we wont ever have to say good bye you would be proud of Nanny she has kepted her promise to you we are proud of her me & Jeff have a house over on Dean one day we will have a better one but I thank God for this one Jeff really misses you to Im doing good papa I just wish you was here so you could be proud of me we have to stay strong its hard but with the lords help we will get through this I will be able to stop by now because pretty soon I will be Driving I got my license can you believe it well Im gonna sign off for now but I know you are still with us you are now one of Gods angels watching over us .
