Peggy Kern

Peggy Kern, 43 of Des Moines, died Monday, February 12, 2007, of ovarian cancer. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Thursday evening at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue; funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 16, 2007 at Ivy Centennial United Methodist Church, HWY 163 in Ivy, Burial will take place in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Peggy was born October 14, 1963 in Des Moines. She graduated from East High in 1982 and worked for Wells Fargo as a transport operator. Peggy enjoyed shopping with her friend Boo and her girls, taking care of children, traveling, going to garage sales with Judy and Boo, and spending time with her family.
Peggy is survived by her children, Torie and Stephanie Kern; her companion of 15 years, Gary Anderson; her brothers, Rodger and Edwin Johnson; her sister, Patricia Stewart; and her mother, Patricia Porter. Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Johnson, and her Grandma and Grandpa Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Society, Des Moines Chapter.
Peggy was loved very much and will be terribly missed.
