Sherry Negrete

Sharon “Sherry” Kay Negrete, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.

Sherry was born August 29, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa to Donald E. and Betty J. (Willis) McCaughey. She was a loving person. Sherry was very smart and had an amazing memory – she retained everything. She enjoyed listening to oldies music and watching movies.

She is survived by her husband, Nile Negrete; daughter, Renee Negrete; siblings, Donald McCaughey, Nancy Bailey, Linda McCaughey, Betty McCaughey, and Veronica Tyler; many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Christa Jamez.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 12, 2023, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Pleasant Hill after the service.
