Boun Van Quang

Boun Van Quang, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 26, 2023. He was born the son of It and La Cavan on November 10, 1970 in Vientianne, Laos. He was the youngest out of seven children.

Boun was the life of the party. He really kept his older siblings on their toes when it came down to being the wild child. He really owned up to that. He was a great father to his four sons. He did the best he could to provide and keep everyone together. He had a lot of pride in family and work. He worked construction at the age of 18 until his passing. He enjoyed anything outdoors, especially camping, fishing and cooking out. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved rock music. Above all else, he enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

He is lovingly survived by his three sons Jeremy, Austin and Jonathan Quang, his three oldest sisters Phoung Cavan, Khan Lovan and Chanh Van Do along with his two older brothers Quan van Quang and Thy Cavan, his nieces and nephews and grandkids.


Boun was preceded in death by his mother La Ca Thi and his father It Cavan, older brother Jeffery Cavan along with his oldest son Vincent Quang and his ex-wife Kimberly sue Johnson.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Urn burial will be held at Glendale Cemetery in the Tai Dam section at a later date.
