Julia E. McKinley

Julia E. McKinley, 93, passed away on November 25, 2009 at the Stuart Community Care Center, in Stuart, IA. She was born on December 20, 1915, to Helen and Matt Blazevich in Des Moines, IA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Monday, November 30, 2009, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1746 Des Moines St., with a burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.

Julia spent her whole life growing up in Des Moines as well as raising her children in Des Moines. She loved being a homemaker, and was an amazing cook. She also enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter; Rosemary Hazen of Des Moines, IA (Tom O’Brien of Stuart, IA), nephew; Dan (Mary Jane) Kauzlarich of Pleasant Hill, IA, and several other nieces and nephews.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ralph E. McKinley, parents, infant son; Richard Lee McKinley, son; Ralph M. McKinley, son-in-law, Merle V. Hazen, brothers; Matt, Tony, and Frank, and sisters; Annie and Mary.
