Wade Allen Weltha
April 16, 2023
Wade Allen Weltha passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Urbandale on April 16, 2023. He was surrounded by the loving care of his daughter Kaitlin, son-in-law Russell, and his partner Melody.
Wade was born October 1, 1969 in Ames, Iowa, to parents Conley and June Weltha. Wade joined his dad in the family plumbing business at an early age. After Conley’s passing in 2016, he continued to run and operate Conley’s Plumbing and Heating. He was very well-known in the Ames community, never met a stranger, and was always willing to help anyone in need.
In his spare time, Wade enjoyed fishing trips to Arkansas, collecting tools and guns, and tinkering with anything that might need fixed. He also raised deer and enjoyed teaching Kaitlin about nature and wildlife at a very young age. They made many wonderful memories at his parents’ acreage in Huxley, Iowa, including lots of bonfires with s’mores, which were his mom’s favorite.
Wade truly enjoyed a good conversation and could talk for hours about the ways of the world. If you ever happened to mention that you were in need of something, no matter how big or small, it would usually show up at your home the next day or very soon after. He took a lot of pride in finding his friends and family things that they may need.
Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Conley and June (Munchow) Weltha. He is survived by his daughter, Kaitlin Bjork (Russell) of Urbandale; partner, Melody Lauritson of Radcliffe; and many friends and family.
His mischievous grin and kind heart will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Wade was a very simple and private man, and at his request, there will be no services planned. Condolences may be expressed online at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Wade looked after the plumbing and heating/cooling at our place on Clark Ave for many years. He became a friend to my wife Pat Thiel and myself, and we enjoyed talking with him. I am so sorry that he is gone.

Cousin Wade, what a kind and rascally soul. I loved him as a cousin growing up nearby and treasured the times we shared together, as he would show us his deer on his land, and trying not to get too hassled by Conley in the meantime.
Wade would hold my arms up while Conley would tickle my armpits, I'm still traumatized to this day, but they wouldn't have it any other way and karate punch anyone who tries to tickle my armpits ( just ask my kids). Always quick to start a bonfire and have good ol bantor, Cousin Wade was very loved and we lost him too soon. I'm sure they're up to good shinanegans in Heaven now.
June was always there with a smile, joke and really good brownies. Annie and June make them the best. Much love and hugs and prayers of the Lord's peace upon the whole family. May the God of all hope overflow you with peace and comfort. Love, Rachel Johnson Scott

I am so sorry to hear this. Wade was my first boyfriend when we went to Meeker Elementary together. Through all the years of school we had together, Wade always had a smile and was a great guy who I have so many great memories of. Seeing this hurt my heart, as I always hoped that one day we would run into each other and talk about the "good old days". Wade will always have a special place in my heart! My love to his family as you grieve of his passing. He was an amazing guy!

So sorry for your loss. My husband's family lived by Wade growing up and stayed close over the years. I was able to meet Wade through my husband and he was a great man. A favorite memory of mine and our children's is going to his house and fishing/kayaking/swimming in his pond. We grilled out and had a great time. We also enjoyed hearing about all of his fishing stories. My kids really liked Wade and he was really good with them. He will be missed by all of us. Thinking of you during this difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss!
Wade and his family lived around the corner from me growing up. Have fond memories of playing tag, baseball, and racing bicycles through the neighborhood streets.
May your memories help you through this difficult time.
