June Swacker

June Darlene Swacker, 82, passed away on February 17, 2023 at Sanford-Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, IA. She was born in Des Moines on June 13, 1940, daughter of Lester and Selina (Ashley) Carr.

June retired as a baker with the “original” Casey’s in Carlisle. She was married to Robert Swacker Jr. for 49 years before his death. June loved Facebook and played Farm Town with her daughter, put puzzles together and enjoyed long talks with her family.

June is survived by her children, Robert (Jenny) Swacker III, Kimberly (Nate) Wilson and Richard (Melissa) Swacker; 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and sisters in law, Carol Spurling and Linda Kellis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Swacker Jr.; sisters and brothers in law, Ellen (Milo) Leek, Irene B. Munson and Sherry L. (Herb) Cory and her parents.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 12:00pm at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services, 11:00 am -12:00 pm.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of June.
