Annamarie Holland
December 27, 2022
Annamarie Elizabeth Holland
of Des Moines, Iowa
Annamarie Elizabeth Holland, age 64, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at her home. Annamarie was born December 20, 1958 in Jacksonville, Illinois and was the daughter of William S. and Marianne (Schultz) Holland. Her parents preceded her in death.
Annamarie was a very caring and loving person as evidenced by her work with a local non-profit Every Step, as a support person making home visits with handicapped clients to help with appointments and transportation. She spent many years in the food industry as well. She was an active member of the Union Park Grace Fellowship Church. She had an inquisitive mind reading books, magazines, and often her Bible. She enjoyed gardening taking good care of her lawn, flowers and vegetables and willingly shared her produce with others. She had a fierce and enduring love for animals especially her cats and provided many a nutty meal for the squirrel family that lived in her tree. She liked attending the Iowa State Fair, concerts, plays, watching movies, and visiting friends and family. Annamarie was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. She was fiercely independent, not afraid to climb a tree to saw off a dead branch, perch on her garage roof to fix a leak or wade through her flooded basement to fix her sump pump.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother Merle and his wife Joyce Holland of Des Moines; nieces and nephews Severin Blake of Philadelphia, PA, Stephanie (Josh) Chronley of Corpus Christi, TX, Nicholas Holland of Seattle, WA, and Bridgett Holland of Des Moines. Also left to mourn her passing are her fur babies Shadow and Abby, dear friends Reese Blount of Omaha, NE, Lynn Lewis, John Hamilton, and Marlis Wagner all of Des Moines.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6th from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines with funeral services following there
at 2:00. Family invites you to join them for a luncheon following the service held at Union Park Grace Fellowship Church, 832 Grandview Ave., Des Moines.
Condolences may be expressed at: www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League in Anna's name.
