Anthony Mullenberg

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Anthony (Tony) Marco Mullenberg, age 54, on December 25, 2022 in Altoona, Iowa. Tony was born on November 3, 1968 in Des Moines, Iowa to Catholene (Rockhold) and Gregory Mullenberg. Plans for a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
He attended Palm Beach Gardens High School, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. While in high school he played the trumpet and was on the wrestling team. Later in life he received his Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician.
Tony was a man who touched the lives of so many through his numerous talents and passions. He loved life and truly lived to have fun in everything he did. While living in Florida he developed a love for all things sunshine and beach related and was a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan.
He loved the water, surfing and was an expert scuba diver and spent many years of his life assisting others with developing their scuba diving skills. Tony was also very handy and a truly skilled craftsman, able to bring his creative vision to life through woodworking and construction projects. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, card games and was particularly skilled at poker. He was also an avid pool player and loved to compete.
Music was a true passion for Tony, he was a talented DJ who performed sets all over the country throughout his life and enjoyed creating mixes and music of his own. Above all, Tony treasured his relationships with his family and friends.
Tony will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His love of life, fun-loving spirit, talents and passion for all things he did will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Catholene Gaudet of Geneseo, IL, his father Gregory Mullenberg of Des Moines, IA, sister Shelly (Doug) Emerick and nephew Michael Emerick of Geneseo, IL, Niece Courtney (Connor) Morrison of Abingdon, IL; Aunt and Uncle Don and Christine Roberson of Davenport, IA who were like seconds parents to him; and other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, an uncle and a cousin.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Wounded Warriors in Tony's memory or to the Anthony Mullenberg memorial fund.

I knew Tony when he was much younger. I watched him graduate from boot camp at Great Lakes. He was such a special person, I went to school with him and was friends with Chip and Mike. This was so sad to hear and I was truly sadden to hear this. I hope you are up there DJing for the big guy! Sending love and Prayers.

I only knew Tony a short time. We played on the same billiards team for a few months. He was always smiling, had a great attitude towards life and was just a great guy to be around overall. He will be missed many. RIP friend ❤
