Harold Lee, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 15, 2022. He was born the son of Samuel and Judea Lee on June 7, 1933 in Perry, Iowa.
Harold proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Des Moines Barrel & Drum Co. and later did custodial work at Vets Auditorium. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards, Dominos, watching western shows, and fishing. Harold was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Judea Lee, wife Lacresa Lee, sisters Melrose Scott, Frances Brown, and Patricia Lee, and brothers William (Brother) Gaines, Russell Lee, Samuel Lee, Elgin Johnson, and James Lee.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2022, with funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

At a chance meeting in the skywalk, we found that Harold knew our Mother & her siblings when he lived in the coal mining town of Zook Spur. What a small world. We enjoyed our visits with him. We are saddened at his death. Our deepest sympathy.
