Zay Allan-Rashad Genochio

My sweet son Zay Genochio , was peacefully called to heaven on November 6th, 2022. As he rests comfortably in God’s arms, may our angel forever bestow strength and solace to all who loved him, he will never be forgotten and his presence always felt.

While Zay was only on this earth for a short time, those moments will last a lifetime. Zay’s passing both represents the magic of the limitless potential a child holds while simultaneously showcasing the fragility of life. He will forever represent to us the miracle that a life lived is; serving as constant reminder not to take for granted the gift we have all been given.

Zay loved to lay on his mama’s stomach and roll off and giggle. He loved his mama SO MUCH! Always holding on tight to her no matter what. His favorite cat was always close to Zay. He was just starting to be more aware – he had big beautiful brown eyes and love looking at the world around him.

Those left to remember him are his mommy, Carlie; grandparents; Jennifer and Shane Genochio and Josh (Yvette) Main; aunt and uncles, Shane, Anthony, and Deanna Genochio and great -aunt Cinthia; doula, Sydney Moore; support, Emily Ripley; and the Batchelder family who graciously welcomed Carlie and Zay into their home.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 2.pm. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, with a visitation one hour prior.
