Marvin Griffin, 81, passed away on November 6, 2022, at Edencrest-Tuscany in Altoona. He was born in Lucerne, Missouri, on August 5, 1941, to Bernard and Nora Griffin.
Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a jokester, loved to fish and watch baseball and even made trips to Kansas City to go see the Royals. Marvin was fiercely loyal and committed to his wife Judy. They were married for 43 years.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Judy; brother, Keith (Shirley) Griffin; sister, Vernile Knott; brother-in-law, Larry Sime; sons, Mike (Kim) Griffin and Scott (Sarah) Griffin; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carolyn Kinney.
Services will be held at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2022, with a 10 a.m. service on Saturday, November 12. Burial will be at Altoona Cemetery.

Marvin, or Wart, as I called him, was at one time a wonderful father figure to me. Even though I was very young, I never forgot his kindness. I'm happy we had many visits in person in the last 15 years. I love you Wart. I'll see you in Heaven. Love, Christy

Marvin was a great brother and friend. We had a great time growing up together. I'm so glad we got to spend time together in August and had a great time.

I will mis Marvin I first met Marvin in 1960 We were stashend at Point Mugu Calif. and were both transferd to San Nickalous Island our next move was to USS RANGER and i got to see Marv. every year at our reunions PRAYING for the family
