Mark Alan Nolte, 58 years of age, was killed in a semi-truck crash near Cheyenne, WY
on September 3, 2022. He was born July 24, 1964, in Anapolis, Goias State, Brazil and adopted by Eldon and Beverly Nolte. He became a naturalized American Citizen in Dayton, OH in 1966.

Mark graduated from Garwin High School in 1982, attended Simpson College and AIB School of Business graduating on 9/19/2004 with an Associate of Business Degree in Computer Programming/Information Technology. He also earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Information Technology. He worked for Apollo Group, Mediacom, Wells Fargo and as an IT Technician at the University of Phoenix.

Mark served in the U.S. Navy doing his military training in Great Lakes, IL then stationed at the Naval Station in Norfolk, VA. He saw military duty on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower while being in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. He was discharged in 1985.

For the past 9 years he has been an over-the-road semi- truck driver and was currently employed by H & M Trucking Company. He loved the open road which would take him from coast to coast.

Mark had a passion for photography so with camera in hand would trek many trails especially filming in Jester Park. As a truck driver he captured stunning sunrises and sunsets along with unique landscaping scenes. His second love was music and could strum the guitar or sit down to play Beethoven’s Fur Elise from memory. While in high school he was a member of the choir as well as the United Methodist Church Choir in Garwin.

Mark married DeAnna McMillen on May 16, 2009 in Des Moines and had four children.

Mark is survived by his wife, DeAnna Nolte; children, ZoeAnn, Connor, Colton and stepdaughter, Rachelle McMillen; his father, Eldon Nolte (Lois); mother, Beverly Nolte; mother-in-law, Annetta McMillen; sister, Debra Pelton of Peoria, AZ; stepsister/stepbrother, Colleen Jones and Christopher Jones; brothers-in-law, Gary McMillen (Diann) and Dave McMillen (Shannon); sister in-law, Tena Peacock; many nephews and nieces along with Ishaya David, a family friend. Preceding Mark in death was his father-in-law, Richard McMillen and brother-in-law, Don Burchum.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Sheridan Park United Methodist Church, 4100 E. Sheridan Ave., Des Moines, IA on Saturday, November 12. Visitation will be at 1 PM with the Service at 2 PM.
