Sean Zimmerman
October 03, 2022
Sean Zimmerman of Norwalk, Iowa passed away on October 3, 2022.
Sean was born on October 27, 2003, at Mercy Hospital. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 2022. He worked at Menards during high school in shipping and receiving. After high school, he worked for Baker Electric as a construction wireman. This fall he would have entered the apprentice program.
He enjoyed gaming, PlayStation 5, online games, VR oculars, cooking pancakes, and eating them. He also liked watching movies, and hanging out with his twin sister, Sheilene, and his other two sisters, Kayla and Sabrena, going on vacation, especially to Myrtle Beach. He loved the ocean. He loved time with his dad working on cars and goofing around, spending time with his dog, Neaveh, and socializing with his gamer friends.
He had a kind heart and would look after everyone without anything in return. He was the most practical but also unpractical person. He loved his dad's homemade shrimp alfredo and loved his mom's homemade pumpkin pie, and pumpkin bread, and loved to keep it all to himself. He was always there for his friends and especially his family. He loved his grandma, Chico, and all his other grandparents.
Sean is survived by his mother, Billie Jo Onstank; father, Terry Onstank; twin sister, Sheilene Zimmerman; siblings, Kayla (Justin) Meyer, Sabrena (Devin Kibbe) Onstank, and Donavin Zimmerman; maternal grandmother, Guyneth (Leonard) Hatfield; maternal grandpa, William Vanderpool, Sr.; paternal grandpa, Kenneth McCoy; paternal grandma, Dora Reeves; uncles, William (Toni) Vanderpool, Jr., Dan (Stephanie) Dahle, Tracy (Elisha) Adreon, and Adam (Jennie) Zimmerman; aunts, Tara (Aaron) Holder, Marlene (Marty) Ruby, Michelle (Gary) Rasmussen, Tammy (John) Seymour, and Brandy Combs; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandma, Linda Vanderpool; paternal grandma, Susan McCoy; paternal grandpa, Dan Reeves; and cousin, Austin Gainuss.
Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, with visitation following from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

Billie, Shei, Terry, Sabrena, Kayla, and Donavin and family:
Words will not lessen the weight you feel on your hearts and souls right now. But please take some comfort in knowing you are not alone. We are all here for you and will graciously and without hesitation carry you as you navigate your grief. Grief, like many aspects of life, does not function on a timeline. Some days will weigh on you heavier than others. Just know, you will regain strength and learn to continue on through the pain while still honoring Sean each and every day in your hearts, memories, and in your actions. I send you all my love, strength, courage, and sympathy. You are all in my thoughts.
