Elizabeth Ellen Kirkpatrick (Liz)

Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, 88, passed away in Des Moines on October 4, 2022. She was born May 2, 1934, in Pollock, MO, the daughter of Harvey and Havaleen Cunningham.
Liz married the love of her life on October 5, 1953, and they moved to Iowa in 1957. She was a hard worker and always stayed busy working many jobs. Liz worked at AMF and Tones Spices, where she retired in 2002. She loved to collect various things including chicken statues and playing cards, and spent plenty of time watching her favorite sports teams, the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs. Liz loved her family and always enjoyed going to her great-grandchildren’s events.
Liz is survived by her daughters, Glenda (Chuck) Kelley and Karen (Neal) Wolver; sister, Emma Lalik; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 4 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn “Bill” Kirkpatrick; daughter, Freida Kerby; son, Randy Kirkpatrick; parents, Harvey and Havaleen Cunningham; sisters, Doris Aleya and Vonda Harrelson; brothers, Hoy, James and Leo Cunningham.
Services will be on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will be from 11a.m. to 12 p.m. with service to begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Liz.

Even though our times of meeting were short great granny Liz, those memories will be cherished forever. Thank you for the smiles, the hospitality, and the love you always brought to your wonderful family and friends. Your life will live on greatly as you watch over us from above now.
