Steven (Rob) Philipsen, age 49, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022. He was born on February 26, 1973 in Des Moines, Iowa.

In his earlier years, Rob worked for Davey, Wright, and Asplundn tree services through Local 55. Later, he was employed by the City of Des Moines forestry department as a tree arborist. Rob then transferred and currently worked through Local 177 doing street maintenance.

Rob was shamelessly blunt, full of life, love, and laughs. He loved and adored his wife, Kassie and daughter, Morgan whole heartedly. Some of his favorite past times were racing cars, riding his motorcycle, watching the Boston Red Sox, fishing, playing cornhole with his friends, rocking out on his drums with his band Delirium and drinking Busch Lattes.

He is lovingly survived by his wife of 15 years Kassie Philipsen, daughter Morgan Philipsen, parents Steve & Kay Philipsen, twin sister Kathy Philipsen, niece, Moss Philipsen, and dogs Melody & Miha.

Rob was preceded in death by his grandparents Ivan & Charlene Philipsen & Gerald & Rosemary Eaton.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2022, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
