Darlene Frances “May” Jahnke
of Des Moines, Iowa
Darlene Jahnke, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Trinity Center in Des Moines. She was born the daughter of Robert & May (Stewart) Kenoyer on October 6, 1927. Darlene married the love of her life, Frank Jahnke on August 29th, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa and they were blessed with eight children.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children Carol Taft, Cheryl (Denny) Rice, Susan McCullough, Gary (Esther) Jahnke, Ron (Kim) Jahnke, Patty Ross, and Randy (Brenda) Jahnke, she was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers, and a host of extended family & friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Frank Jahnke, daughter Sandy, two brothers, and five sisters.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2022, with funeral service following at 1:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Darlene will be laid to rest next to her husband, daughter, and other beloved family members at Elm Grove Cemetery in Des Moines.
