Service Details

Becky McChurch, 67, passed away on September 3, 2022 with few regrets and without any unfinished business. Intelligent, surprisingly well-traveled, and full of unconditional love.

Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon (Rinard) Peters, father, Wayne Peters and sister, Melissa (Peters) Ross.

Becky is survived by her husband of 34 years, Joe and sons, Shane (Fiance Amelia Goldsby) and Morgan, her mom, Carol Peters “who took on the challenge”, sister, Vicki Haley (Mike), brothers, Mike Peters (Linda), Dan Sprague (Linda), her beloved ride-or-die girlfriends (SOTTT), lifelong friends made in each phase of her life, including her classmates from Adel, coworkers, and family (nieces, nephews, in-laws and out-laws) - all a great joy to her.

We were blessed to have known her, will cherish the memories she blessed us with, and we will all miss her encouragement, inclusiveness, kindness, advice, and LAUGHTER. Becky was instrumental in developing and starting the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Alumni Association, serving as the Inaugural President and editor of the “Tiger Tracks” from 1997 to 2001. She had very fond memories of her teachers, friends and experiences from high school.

Becky retired in September 2020 after many years of working for a variety of companies in Iowa, California and Arizona, most recently at yellowblue in Pleasant Hill. She also provided many years of “behind the scenes” support to Joe and his business.

When Becky was diagnosed with cancer and had completed her first round of chemo she wrote the following:
“I’ve been so very lucky to have basked in the love and support of my beloved girlfriends, classmates from Adel, work friends, kids and awesome husband, all are a joy in my life.”

There will be a Celebration of her Life Open House Friday, September 9th from 4:00-7:00 pm at Becky and Joe’s home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Alumni Association.

The address to send donations to is:
