Stephen David Sovia passed away at the age of 58 on Saturday, August 13th, 2022 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born on May 12, 1964 in Waterbury, CT to John and Jeannie Sovia.

Stephen enjoyed working on cars, tinkering with items, rebuilding clocks, collecting antiques, talking and visiting with friends and family, rebuilding his hot rod and motorcycle, and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by this daughter, Shannon Cleveland and her spouse Tyler Cleveland of Sioux City, IA, daughter Stephanie Sovia and special friend JR Brewer of Windom MN, son Stephen Sovia of Windom, MN, brothers Jack Sovia of Hartwell GA, Paul Sovia of Southington CT, and Glenn Sovia of Nashville TN, and a sister Sharon of Watertown, CT. Stephen is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Elliot, Joeseph, Jaxton, Logan, Stephen, Acelyn, and Emalee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Stephen was preceded in death by his son Sean Sovia, his parents Jack and Jeannie Sovia and a sister Darlene.

Services will be held at a later date.

Steve was a great man who made the world a better place. His skill set related to almost everything was extensive and my family will be eternally grateful for his help on many occasions. Hugs to Steve's family and to those he cared about. Like I said, the world is a better place because of Steve's contribution.
