Ellen Beckman

Ellen Irene Beckman (Masters), 68, passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2022. She was born on October 4, 1953 to Willard “Ed” and Esther (Lee) Masters in Des Moines Iowa.
Ellen attended Saydel High School and worked for almost 30 years at UPS in the Customer Service Department in Des Moines. She loved everything Green Bay Packers football and forgave her husband for his passion of the Pittsburgh Steelers. She wrote many songs about Packer football and was considered one of their biggest fans, by her family. Ellen also enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family (especially her grandkids) during the holidays.
Ellen is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, Doug Beckman; two daughters, Jill (Brian) Leonard and Jaime (Michael) Kidder; Son-in-Law, Eldon Kirkland; Sister, Elizabeth (Howard) LeNoble; brother, Gerald (Becky) Maters; and eight grandchildren, Zack, Aiden, Nathan, Hannah, Michael, Lauren, Reagan, and Matthew.
She is proceeded in death by her loving daughter, Bekki Kirkland; both her parents; her sister, and her mother-in-law.
No services will be held as this was Ellen’s wish. Memorial contributions can be directed to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Ellen Beckman.

My heart is broken for all of her family. I have known her since before kindergarten. We spent a lot of time as kids at each others houses. Praying for comfort for all.

worked with her at UPS and saw her at the Bank in Mitchellville. There was never a dull moment with Ellen around!! I'm sure her and Peggy Litton are laughing in Heaven!! Love to all of you!

Ellen was a fun, and a lovely lady! Remember seeing her come in for her radiation treatment and recognized her right away! She fought like she lived, with all she had! Prayers for strength and Gods blessings for you all!

So many of my childhood memories from grade school through my teen years involve Ellen! She was always the fun mom, singing and dancing and bouncing around being silly. Thinking of you guys - Jaime and Jill and Doug - right now.

My first friend at saydel was Ellen and Becky we worked at Goode motel lost contact for years but somehow got reunited did some cleaning jobs together had a lot of fun I wish her peace and grateful I had her in my life
