Service Details
Russell “Russ” Hawkins passed away peacefully May 28, 2022. He is survived by his sister, Babet (Cecil) Reynolds; three nieces, Lisa (Drew) Kerley, Kelly (Tim) Lynn, and Megan (Alex) Herrold, as well as six great nieces and nephews, Lauren, Sam, Michael, Oliver, Carmen, and Macklin.
Russ enjoyed motorcycles and shooting pool.
Visitation will be held at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 10-11 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In loving memory of Russ, memorials will be received by the family for a future designation.

So Sad ! Just got a call today from a friend letting me know that Russ has passed. Russ was a Sweet and Great guy. I met him when I Bartended at Smokey's He helped me out several times. Once he kept a eye out on my house and fed my fish, when I was out of town. Helped me and came around when I had foot surgery, was on crutches. Loved his Smile ! He was a Good Pool player. We would play cards at the bar after it slowed down. About 5 of us. Then we would at times go to my place and play. Had so much Fun. Sorry that we didn't keep in touch once I moved to the Southside. May the Good Lord be with the Family and MYRIP Russ Love Ya !!
