Diamond Lashay Mathis

Daughter, Sister, friend of the earth and nature!

On Monday, February 7, 2011 Diamond Lashay Mathis was born in Chicago, IL.. A gem and treasure to her parents, Lenay and Joseph Mathis. Diamond loved her family very much.

This beautiful sparkling diamond of a girl was awesome. Diamond was bubbly, smart, gifted and strong-willed. Diamond graduated from Hanawalt Elementary School, and was excited to be entering the 6th grade as a junior high student. She loved to draw, sing, be helpful and attend functions at the community center. Diamond loved spending time outdoors with nature, skating, and riding her bicycle.

She is survived by her parents, Lenay and Joseph Mathis; her siblings, Joseph L. Mathis, Jr., Breanna, Inaya, London Mathis and King Garrett; her grandparents, Valerie Waters, Valerie Bibbs, and Lovelee Walker; great-grandparent, Celessie Stephenson; many uncles, aunties, cousins, friends and family members.

Diamond was preceded in death by her grandparent, L. T. Mathis; and great-grandparents, Audrey and Clements Bibbs, and Margree and James Walker.
