Service Details

Sharon Lea Kline, 82, beloved family member and friend, passed away on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022, in hospice care at The Copper Shores Village. The Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 11:30 AM at the Runnells Christian Church, Runnells, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until service time.

Sharon was born on November 17, 1939, in Runnells, Iowa, to Darlene and Glen Beck. She graduated from Runnells High School in 1958 and married Tommy McConkey, also from Runnells. Together they had three children, Shelley (who passed away shortly after birth), Darla and Darcey. After Tommy’s death in 1975, she later met and married her husband of 37 years, Jerry Kline, and was blessed with the addition of his boys, Todd, Tom and Tim. Together they combined their families and created life-long memories.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents as well as her step-fathers, James Reese and Bob Winters; her husband, Tommy and their daughter, Shelley; her husband, Jerry and son, Todd Kline.

Shortly after her husband Jerry’s passing in 2016, Sharon was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. She has fought with courage and humor, and her family is grateful for the care she received from the staff at The Copper Shores Village and Care Initiatives Hospice.

Sharon is survived by her siblings, Gary Beck (Jeanne, deceased), Randy Reese (Linda) and Marta McCauley (Bob); daughters, Darla Graeve and Darcey Sanford (Bob); daughter-in-law, Cassie Kline (Todd, deceased) and sons, Tom Kline (Amanda Harris) and Tim Kline (Charity); her grandchildren, Cody Graeve (Madison), Kyle Sanford, Bryce Sanford, Cally Pote (Zach), Devin Kline (Emma), Zachary Ferguson (Meagan), Cole Sanford, Zoe Kline, Peyton Kline and Nick Kline; her great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Sharon’s grandchildren were one of her greatest joys. She retired early and spent many years attending their events, watching them grow and creating lasting memories. She leaves a legacy of dedication and love to them and the rest of her family. We have been blessed.
