Charles McClelland II

Charles H. “Chuck” McClelland II, 70, died of cancer Tuesday, February 6, 2007, at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Chuck was a building manager at Lincoln High School until his disability retirement in 1991 due to poor vision. Survivors include his wife, Dixie, two sons Jim (Terri) of Altoona and Scott “Skeet” (Heather) of Des Moines, seven grandchildren, one sister, Harriette Milburn. Chuck enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed annual fishing trips to Canada with his two sons. He was a member of Highland Park Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Auburn Masonic Lodge.
Chuck’s body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 9, at Highland Park Christian Church, 6th and Aurora, Des Moines. The family requests no flowers. Any memorials may be made to his church building fund or Hospice of Central Iowa.
