Grant R. Bunce, Sr.

Grant R. Bunce, Sr., 62, went home to our Lord on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at his home with loved ones at his side.

He was born on April 14, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa to Katie R. and Robert G. Bunce. He worked as a laborer for many years, as well as a tree trimmer and foreman.

He lived life to the fullest – Grant enjoyed watching old western movies, NASCAR racing, and dirt track racing. He also spent time riding dirt bikes and quads. He was an avid MOPAR fan and was fond of operating remote-control cars.

Grant is survived by his four sons Robert (Jill) Nussbaum, Alex Nussbaum, Grant R. (Brooke) Bunce, Jr., and Nick (Emma) Bunce, siblings Karen Liles, Diane Grylls, and Robert C. (Sharon) Bunce, his life-partner Lori J. Chayet, grandchildren Avery and Emmett Bunce, Isaac Nussbaum and Alyce Lowery, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Rebecca German, Robert G. Bunce, Katie R. Bunce, and Brenda McCuen, as well as Patricia Bunce, and his beloved dog Max.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the funeral home. Urn burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
