Service Details
Linda Jo VanPelt, 48, died Monday, October 26, 2009, at Taylor House Hospice. Funeral services will be 10 am Friday, October 30, at Grace Baptist Church, 9936 County Line Road, with burial following at Powers Warren Cemetery in Runnells. A visitation will be from 5-8 pm Thursday at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home.
Linda was born April 15, 1961, in Des Moines to Frederick and Sharon Witmer. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1979. Linda worked as a Business Analyst for ING Insurance for 30 years. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed working in her garden and loved spending time with her family.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Jadie VanPelt; her brothers, Tracy and Brent Witmer; and her mother, Sharon Witmer. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred and sister, Connie Witmer.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

I never met Linda personally. However, I work in Windsor, CT, at ING and I had quite a bit of interaction with Linda in meetings and phone conferences. Linda was always so kind, so knowledgeable, and so willing to help out with work issues.
I am sure she will be missed by her family, friends, and co workers. Your all in my prayers.

My deepest sympathies for loss of your mother, daughter, sister and a wonderful person.
It was my pleasure to have worked with Linda and her lively presence is very much around here. Very professional, detail oriented and it seemed she had un-ending source of energy to keep working long hours. At the same time she was warm-hearted, very easy to talk with and ready to help anytime with her vast reservoir of knowledge. I am deeply saddened to hear about her loss. May her soul rest in peace.

To the Witmer and Van Pelt Families,
I was shocked today when I saw a Facebook message about Linda's passing from a friend in Des Moines. I went to junior high and high school with Linda, but had not seen her for a long time because I've lived in Denver for 23 years. When I saw her name, I immediately recalled her beautiful face and sweet spirit as though I had just seen her yesterday. I only wish I had known of her condition so I could have sent her a note of encouragement before she died. I noticed that Linda was a member of Grace Baptist Church, and it's comforting to know that she is now enjoying the company of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. May God Bless you all during this difficult time. I will be keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

My prayers and hugs go to your family at this time of loss of your mom,sister,daughter and beautiful person that Linda was. I have had the wonderful pleasure of being Linda's friend for over 40 yrs. Although we've lost touch I've always had her on my mind and in my cherished memories of friends that have shared laughter and so much fun through the years. I will miss Linda so much as I'm sure all of you will. I will be thankful to have had
such a beautiful friend and soul touch my life and will be a better person for having known her.

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear sweet Linda. I haven't talked to her since high school, but I will always remember her as a sweet, shy and loving little girl. I always considered her my friend at Howe, Weeks, and even at Lincoln, though our paths went different ways. My heart is heavy at the loss of this kind and gentle soul here on earth. But it is also rejoicing that Linda is with Our Lord.
May God keep you all in the very palm of His Hand.

I had the honor and privilege of working with Linda for the past five years. She was the finest quality of person and will be sorely missed by all who were lucky enough to meet her. She also made the best sugar cookies in the world. I am truly very sorry for your loss.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear mother, sister and daughter. I am sure she was the heart of your family circle and will be sorely missed.
I was privileged to work with Linda for most of her 30 years at Equitable and ING. She was instinctivley committed to the interests of her colleagues and customers with little apparent concern for herself. She was our trusted guide and counselor who routinely kept us out of trouble. She had a way of becoming the center of every project, always for the best of reasons, never just for ego. She had such high expectations for herself that it spurred the rest of us to be a bit better. We were enriched by her presence. We will be diminshed by her absence.

I am so sorry at the loss of your mom/sister/daughter. When I worked with her years ago and she often spoke about her daughter and it was always with pride and joy. Know that Linda was great to work with. She was always thorough and took pride in her work. I will miss seeing your mom here and am thinking of you and your family.
