Deloris Linn
March 15, 2022
Deloris Kay Linn was born August 13, 1942, in Newton, Iowa to Carl and Genevieve (Dawson) Finch. She grew up in Bondurant where she continued to live her whole life. She graduated from Bondurant-Farrar in 1961 where she played on the state tournament basketball and softball teams.
Deloris married Harry B. Linn on August 24, 1962, and was a loving wife for nearly 60 years. She attended Bondurant Federated Church for most of her life and enjoyed volunteering with Awana and singing in the choir. She worked as a school cook for nearly 33 years where her primary role was baking. Deloris enjoyed putting together puzzles, cooking, Saturday morning shopping trips, reading, playing card games, crocheting, and watching Hallmark movies.
Her greatest joy was being with family and cheering on her grandchildren at their many activities. Her family enjoyed her home-cooked meals and she often made their special requests for birthdays. She enjoyed many trips hosted by Lew and Ardy to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and Wyoming. On her last trip to Canada, she was proud to catch the largest fish.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Linn; brother, Lewis (Ardy) Finch of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son, Kyle (Lori) Linn of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; daughters, Susan (Duane) Moeller of Bondurant, Iowa and Kimber (Donavon) Hintz of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren Joshua (Channing), Daley (Tanner), Austin, Betsy (Leyton), Seth, Kyra, Mara, and Delia; and great-grandchildren Eli, Addie, Lane, and Reese.
Deloris was preceded in death by her father, Carl Finch; her mother, Genevieve Slocum; her stepfather, Clair Slocum; her brother, David Finch; and her two infant sisters.
Services will be held at Bondurant Federated Church, 103 2nd Street S.W. Bondurant, Iowa 50035. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 5:00-8:00 pm. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 10:00 am.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association in loving memory of Deloris.

Condolences to Harry and the kids. Deloris was a joy to work with! Always smiling and enjoying her work. She loved the kids, even those who couldnt figure out how to scrape their plates after lunch. She will be missed.

Wanted to tell you that I wont be in town to attend Services for Deloris. I am out of town with Ken. I am so sorry for your loss. We were very close friends growing up together in our home town of Bondurant. So many good memories-school, church and of course, basketball. Not sure where the time goes, but
I know without a doubt that my friend is in the arms of her Savior. She will be missed but now made whole. Love to you and your family through this time
