Mica Jean "Jeanie" Trout
March 02, 2022
Mica passed away Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022 at Mercy Medical center in Des Moines. She was a kind and loving soul, she was close family and friends and she was loved by everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jasper and Jean Trout and brother-in law Ray Ritter. She is survived by sisters Marta Trout, Mona (Bill) Adolphi, Melia (Lyle) Johnson and Melita (Larry) Frankford; nieces and nephews Brian (Cora) Ritter, Jason (Katie) Rees, Jennifer (James) Chorzempa, Melissa (Mike) Ritter, Trisha (Billy) Herr, Heather (Matt) Wenthe, Lindsey Johnson, Katie Johnson, Matt (Rachel) Johnson; great nieces and nephews Caleb and Hannah Rees, Maddie and Cody Wenthe, Ashlee and Whitney Herr, Paxton, Easton and Adelaide Johnson. She had a special bond with each of the kids and she was their “Favorite”.
She was retired from FSA USDA after 40 years. She was an alumni of the North High Polar Bears and president of the Dolphins synchronized swim team. She enjoyed traveling and lived with her sister Marta in Granger. In earlier years spent a lot of quality time at the farm, gardening, prepping for market, swimming, ice skating, and sledding. She is remembered for making homemade outfits for all of the family. She then found a love for embroidery and shared that gift with many.
Mica was close to many and will be missed dearly by all whose lives she has touched.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. We ask you to please share your stories, memories, thoughts and prayers with family and friends on the memorial site.

Mica was one of the first people I remember working with when I started my career with FSA. She was able to get me kidding around with her and made me feel comfortable working with all the new people in my life at that time. Thru the years she always had a warm smile and a friendly hello any time I showed up at the FSA State Office.

I have so many fun memories of Aunt Mica from my childhood. One of my favorites in thinking of writing this is one summer I got to go stay with her and my aunt Marta for a week. I got to sleep in the princess bedroom with the bed that had the canopy and have ice cream with sprinkles for breakfast! She taught me how to sew and use an embroidery machine and she even gave me my own Made by Katie Jo Johnson labels to sew onto my creations. She will be dearly missed, but Im glad she is no longer in pain. 💚

Mica was a wonderful person and will be missed. Cherished memories from working with her at FSA. Never forget having pizza at her house while in DM for a week. She cared so much for her family. Flying with the angels until we see her again. ❤

She was like a mama bear with all of us nieces and nephews but you best believe she wouldn't hesitate to scold us when we were naughty.
She made my sister and I cinderella dresses cuz every lil girl deserved to be a disney princess. She made my prom dress and was just so creative and talented with quilting and embroidery. When we stayed with her by ourselves we got spoiled rotten, like ice cream for breakfast with whatever toppings we wanted, shoe shopping and window shopping at the disney store(sometimes the things we picked out were under the tree for christmas). I will miss her very much, but I have peace knowing she's no longer in pain and she's safe with Jesus. All she knows now is Joy and that is priceless.

Aunt Mica "my Iowa mom" where do I begin? Most Incredibly Caring Amazing (Mica) and I mean every word. You loved me like i was your own son interested in every aspect of my life. I remember when Jennifer and I first started dating and she brought me to Iowa for the 1st time to meet you and Marta. You knew immediately that i was a "keeper" and that Jennifer made a great choice. We got engaged and eventually married to which you were so happy for us and i quickly became "your favorite nephew." And when my father passed away in 2017 both you and Marta comforted me over the phone in my time of grief. To my amazement you were also a MLB fan and that your favorite team was the New York Yankees which is also mine! You always got so excited when Jennifer and I would go down to Iowa and visit you and Marta for the weekend to relax and watch movies on the home theatre downstairs to which i thoroughly enjoyed. Christmas time was your favorite time of the year, because everyone was present at M&M's from near and far because you wanted to see everyone and everyone wanted to come. So many happy memories and i am a happier person because of you. I will miss you Mica! ❤😪

I worked at FSA with Mica and considered her more than a co-worker but rather a friend. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and did so with kindness and a smile. She will be greatly missed!!! Rest in Peace!

I have fond memories of all the Trout girls but in recent years my in person interaction has been with Mica and Marta. I hung out with Marta many days, after her medical issue, while Mica was still working. We lived in Boone then, but moved to Ankeny a few years ago and saw them once in awhile. I am so glad we stopped by in August after attending an event at Jester Park. It was a great visit. She was such a classy lady!

Aunt Jeanie, You are so much than the words I can write. This week we have reminisced, told so many story's, and shared memories. I know you were smiling for sure.
If I have to narrow down a few, I think the drives to the farm, they were never boring " is Mickey winking" as we came through Indianola. Baskin Robbins Ice Cream and Oh, those tube tops... I remember the house on Clinton and having the chicken pox, you put your nylons on our hands so we couldn't itch and made us all night gowns with the eyelet ribbon just like yours. We made my Senior Prom dress together, you saw my vision. More than anything, you loved my daughter before she was even born. The bond you shared will never be forgotten. We are beyond blessed to have you as an Aunt and we will miss you terribly.

I enjoyed sharing quilting stories with Mica. She made such beautiful quilts. She and Marta even invited me along to their quilt group until Covid shut everything down. Marta, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.

My dear sweet loving Aunt many could have believed she was a disney princess herself. Although she was a big fan of Disney she truly loved action and suspense she rewatched her favorites often like Hunt for Red October, Clear Present Danger, Batman, and Star Trek to name a few. She taught me to color before I could even hold the crayon sitting on her lap with her warm hand wrapped around mine. She loved my art work and kept even some of my, ahem, early works. She helped teach me to swim and showed off some of her synchronized moves. One of my fondest early memories is laying on the grassy hillside watching the clouds roll by making up stories about what we saw. Mine were often cartoon characters but she always thought of it as a big ocean with sailboats floating by in the wind.
