Lana Courtney
February 04, 2022
Lana Rae Courtney, 67, passed away February 4, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines Iowa.
Lana, was born on February 15, 1954 in Des Moines to James and Jean Clearwater. Lana worked as a bartender and loved every second of it. Days she wasn’t bartending at Club 2000 or surfing around Facebook, she would be spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her granddaughters described her as the most caring grandma anyone could have. Anyone would be so lucky to be able to call her their grandma. One of the most cherished memories was the annual canoeing trips/camping trips Jerry and Lana would make with their family friends.
Lana is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Jennifer Stephen (Patrick Northway); mother, Jean Leo; brothers, Tony Clearwater, Eddie Clearwater (Becky), Jason Leo (Missy), and Christopher Leo (Cherie); sister, Linda Clearwater (Kelly); step-daughter, Angela Bermister; ten grandchildren; Brooke White, Timothy Stephen, Rylee Northway, Acacia, Cooper, Devan, Brian, Colten and Austin, Benjamin. 5 great-grandchildren, Taleiaha, Armani, Zyaire, Jayce and Thomas Jr.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Clearwater; step-father, Pete Leo; grandparents, Joseph and Linda Tollari; and her aunt, Betty Hartley.

So sorry for your loss Jerry. Lana and I would have the best of times at church...then at Church Camp (Spring Valley Bible Camp) we would talk about growing up in Des Moines...we would pray for better times ahead.
RIP my Sister in Christ!
You truly will be missed. Last time Lana came to church she promised me that she would see me later with a big hug! Enjoy your eternal life with God in heaven my dear friend. ❤
