James H. Naylor, 86, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
James H. Naylor was born January 10, 1936 in Lauderdale, Mississippi. James received his education in Kemper County, Mississippi. He moved to Iowa from Mississippi in 1963. He was a great tradesman and repairman. He retired from Martin Marietta Materials.
He loved his family and friends. He also enjoyed working on cars, odds and ends as a hobby. He was a humorous person, and loved laughter.
James is survived by Elizabeth Naylor and grandson, Robert Pate, Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa; brothers, George Naylor of Sioux City, IA and Willie Burton of Porterville, MS; sisters, Louise Bender of Laurel, MS, Charlene Washington of Fort Dodge, IA, and Mahalia Guess of Freeport, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Monia and Charlie Naylor; sister, Callie M. Cox; and brothers, William Naylor, Walter Naylor, Robert Naylor and Johnny Naylor.
James will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A private service will be held with the family.

It's hard to even know where to begin. James made me smile every time I got the pleasure of his company. Funny, honest, hard working and most of all loving. He will TRULY be missed.

I never knew a person who would bring an amazing amount of positivity and happiness to our employees at American Scrap. You always knew when Jimmy arrived. He would greet you with a positive "How Ya Doin! How Ya Doin!" He was a true friend and we will all miss him very much.
