Esperanza Mae Grau, age 38, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2022.

Esperanza was born January 30, 1983 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Ruby Van Meter School in Des Moines. She was born with cerebral palsy, and even though it presented many obstacles to her, she never let it get her down. She was always happy and always smiling. Esperanza loved people! Some of her favorite things were M&M’s, outings, and going shopping. She was truly a people person.

Esperanza will be lovingly remembered by her mom and dad, Becky and Ricky; sister, April, and her significant other, Anthony; brother, Robert; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless other family members.

A very special thank you to the staff at Link Associates and Easterseals Iowa for their compassionate care of Esperanza.
